The role

 

We're seeking a Technical Support Coordinator to provide timely and accurate engineering and technical services to our Water Trade Waste operations team.

 

As the Trade Waste Technical Support Coordinator, you'll be responsible for:

 

  • Providing technical support for the safe, efficient and regulatory compliant operation of South East Water’s Trade Waste system
  • Undertaking technical appraisals of trade waste customers to identify and mitigate risks associated with trade waste discharges particularly from industrial sources
  • Contributing to the identification and implementation of resource recovery and circular economy initiatives
  • Acting as an interface between trade waste customers and other South East Water stakeholders such as Sewer Operations, Property Development etc.
  • Investigating challenges and risks to sewage quality that may be associated with Trade Waste discharges
  • Contributing to the implementation of ISO22000 and Integrated Sewage Quality Management system activities
  • Contributing to the management of one-off customer discharge consents
  • Reviewing Trade Waste data to ensure optimum operation and regulatory compliance including involvement with the SQRAT system
  • Developing and maintaining quality systems and procedures to support the safe and compliant operation of Trade Waste system
  • Undertaking reporting activities related to Trade Waste Performance
  • Forecasting and monitoring for emerging contaminants and new treatment plant technologies
  • Improving customer experience through future focus on opportunities to improve interactions and engagement efficiency.

Who are you?

 

You have a chemical engineering or chemistry science degree, with experience and familiarity with treatment processes associated with trade waste treatment and an understanding of the regulatory framework associated with trade waste collection, treatment, and reuse. Knowledge of ISO22000 quality management and its implementation is ideal. Your strong communication skills allow you to effectively liaise and negotiate with trade waste customers, consultants and internal stakeholders.

 

You put safety first, and are committed to ensuring a safe working environment, identifying safety hazards and managing suitable controls. You think independently and innovatively and have the ability to make sound technical and professional decisions. Your analytical skills include identification of trends and a working knowledge of electronic statistical and analytical packages (including Microsoft Excel).
