The role
Are you passionate about finance systems and love solving problems that make a real impact? South East Water is looking for a dynamic Systems Accountant to be the go-to expert for our Oracle ERP and associated financial systems. In this pivotal role, you’ll support users across the business, ensuring our finance systems run smoothly and efficiently—from general ledger and accounts payable to fixed assets and inventory.
You’ll be the first point of contact for system-related queries, and work closely with the Finance Systems Manager to deliver smart, strategic solutions that help our people get the most out of our technology. Who are you?
The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with Finance ERP systems, particularly Oracle Fusion Cloud, and be confident using tools like PowerBI, MS Excel, and other database/reporting applications. They will bring a solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures, supported by at least 2+ years of accounting experience, and be CPA or CA qualified or actively working towards completion. A strong ability to understand business processes and translate them into system functionality is essential, along with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
Additional capabilities required include, but are not limited to;
- Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve routine technical and process-related issues using established methods.
- Skilled in recognising system risks and opportunities and escalating appropriately.
- Able to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines across multiple project tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
- Ability to seek and implement process improvements under guidance.
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative.
- IT experience, including coding, SQL, or service desk exposure, is highly regarded but not essential.

This role is remunerated at a Level 3, which is between $94,442 and $102,985 + super and offers are commensurate with the successful candidates' experience.
