Supplier Security Assurance Analyst

The role

 

In this newly created Supplier Security Assurance Analyst position, you will play a pivotal role in shaping South East Water's future approach to third‑party security. You’ll be central to assessing and strengthening the security posture of our suppliers, ensuring they meet SEW’s standards and helping safeguard critical systems and services. Working closely with Procurement, Legal and business teams, you will identify supplier risks, recommend effective treatments, and embed robust security requirements into contracts.

 

You’ll also drive continuous uplift by enhancing the third‑party risk management program and contributing to initiatives and policies that bolster SEW’s overall cyber resilience.

Who are you?

 

The successful candidate will be an experienced security or third‑party risk professional with strong technical understanding and the ability to translate complex security requirements into practical outcomes.  Possessing  excellent analytical and communication skills, they will thrive on collaborating with diverse stakeholders to uplift supplier security and manage risk effectively.

 

The following key skills, knowledge and experience will also be required:

 

  • 5+ years’ experience in information risk, third‑party risk or assurance roles.
  • Hands‑on experience with third‑party risk management platforms (e.g., UpGuard, SecurityScorecard, BitSight or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of cyber security frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, VPDSS, ASD ISM or CIS.
  • Ability to interpret assurance artefacts and collaborate effectively with suppliers to negotiate security requirements.
  • Relevant qualifications, ideally with certifications such as CISSP, CTPRP, CTPRA, CRISC or ISO 27001.

This role is remunerated at a Level 5, which is between $115,748 and $128,761 + super and offers are commensurate with the successful candidates' experience.
