The role

 

South East Water has two exciting opportunities for experienced Squad Leads to join our technology team and play a key role in delivering innovative solutions that create real business value.

 

Leading one or more cross-functional squads, you’ll foster a collaborative, high-performing environment where teams are empowered to deliver quality outcomes and continuously improve. As a servant leader, you'll champion Agile ways of working, guide teams through change, and create the conditions for successful delivery.

 

Working closely with stakeholders and team members, you'll proactively remove impediments, align squad activities with organisational priorities, and support the delivery of value through iterative and incremental approaches. Your leadership will help build engaged, accountable teams that are focused on achieving meaningful outcomes for our customers and business.

Who are you?

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring a strong blend of Agile leadership, delivery capability and people‑focused coaching. You’ll be confident guiding cross‑functional teams, navigating competing priorities, and building meaningful connections with stakeholders across the organisation. Above all, you’ll have a passion for enabling high‑performing squads and driving continuous improvement.

 

Other key skills, knowledge and experience include:

 

  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and modern delivery practices.
  • Experience leading and developing cross‑functional squads in a technology delivery environment.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Knowledge of SAFe principles and expertise in Jira, Confluence, and other collaboration platforms.
  • Ability to manage priorities, mitigate risks, and drive outcomes in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proven capability in coaching team members, fostering engagement, and supporting career growth.
