The role

 

Our career options are as diverse as our people, we all have an important role to play!  The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for providing business analysis and requirements management across projects and IT initiatives/application releases related to delivering application enhancements. These projects or application releases can be internal or external to SE Water. The incumbent will work in conjunction with project managers, application development teams and project sponsors / stakeholders at SE Water to ensure projects and application releases achieve their objectives and to ensure that business requirements are understood and delivered as software solutions that make the best use of application software. The job holder provides services for internal SE Water customers and as required, to other water authorities.

 

This role is responsible for:
 

  • Ensuring that the big picture is considered while dealing with detail that is required to ensure the success of projects and application releases.
  • Supporting all areas of IT including project managers and application/development teams in the delivery of projects, application releases and development activities.
  • Working with business stakeholders to prioritise requirements. Provide input on business value and benefits when working on requirements management and scoping of new projects.
  • Translating business requirements into system solutions. Working with development teams to recommend solutions.

Who are you?

 

Along with a degree level qualification in Information Technology or other appropriately related discipline, candidates will ideally also possess Business Analysis certifications.  The role operates at a Level 5 under the SFIA framework.  

 

The successful candidate will possess the ability to work autonomously and have a high degree of initiative in order to meet technical and/or project objectives.  They will also have demonstrated experience in performing an extensive variety of complex technical and professional work activities and be able to advise on available standards, methods, tools and applications.  Effective communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across the business is imperative.  Your creative mindset will come in handy when seeking innovative solutions to problems.

This role is remunerated at a Level 5, which is between $112,377 and $125,011 + super and offers are commensurate with the successful candidates' experience.

 

South East Water operates a 24/7 service environment. Whilst this role does not involve after-hours rostered duty, all employees may be required to provide out of hours support from time to time as required
