The role

 

An exciting new 12-month maximum term role has just become available in the People, Safety and Governance Team at South East Water.

 

Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel (Governance), the Project Manager, Governance will be responsible for planning, supporting and ensuring the implementation of governance-related initiatives across the organisation, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, managing risk, and implementing best practice in governance frameworks.

 

This role requires a strong understanding of governance principles and project management methodologies, as well as excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively.

Who are you?

 

South East Water is seeking a professional individual with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Governance, Law, Project Management or other related field as well as five (5+) years' experience in project management and/or governance.

 

With a proven track record of leading governance or compliance projects, the successful candidate will also possess the following key skills, knowledge and experience:

 

  • Experience working in highly regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, technology)
  • Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent project management skills, with proficiency in tools like Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience engaging with senior leadership and boards.
  • Familiarity with risk management principles and tools.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Governance Professional (CGP), Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professional (CRCMP) desirable
  • Ethical decision-making and integrity.
