The role

We’re seeking an experienced Project Management Lead to successfully drive and directly deliver digital and technology initiatives that support essential water and wastewater services for our community.

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager – PMO, you’ll lead a high-performing team of project professionals, overseeing a portfolio of projects that enable innovation, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes across the organisation. You’ll combine strategic oversight with hands-on leadership, guiding project delivery, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard.

 

A key focus of the role is uplifting project management capability, embedding best practice methodologies, and fostering a collaborative culture that supports continuous improvement. You’ll also play a critical role in supporting the Digital & Technology roadmap, ensuring initiatives align with organisational priorities and help deliver sustainable, forward-thinking water solutions.

 

Who are you?

You are a confident and collaborative leader with strong experience delivering complex technology or business transformation projects, ideally within infrastructure, utilities, or a similarly regulated environment.

 

You'll also bring:

 

  • Demonstrated experience in project, program, or portfolio management, with exposure to technology delivery and system integration
  • Strong leadership capability, with a proven ability to build, mentor and lead high-performing teams
  • Experience working with Agile and/or traditional project management methodologies
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • A track record of managing risks, resolving complex issues, and navigating competing priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, supported by sound decision-making
  • Experience establishing or improving project management frameworks, tools, and governance practices
  • Commercial and financial awareness in project delivery
