The role

South East Water have multiple exciting roles across the Circular Economy Group, these roles vary in skills and experience so all candidates are encouraged to apply. The Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the successful delivery of Water Recycling Plant (WRP) projects within the Circular Economy Group .The role of the Project Engineer is to assist with the safe, timely and efficient delivery of tasks including planning and business case support, managing procurement activities, contract management and the management of the design and construction for Civil, Mechanical & Electrical (M&E)/Control components of WRP projects. This includes working with our capital delivery teams and partners to ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

 

Broadly, the incumbents will be required to manage stakeholders both internal and external to ensure compliance, which will involve consultation and then following up all items identified in meetings, you will be required to manage both contractors and full-time employees making sure that work scopes are clearly identified budgeted and followed through on time.


You will be required to provide input into the  design phases for projects, to ensure compliance with the intent of the project briefs, coordinating any technical or engineering queries raised.

Who are you?

Along with experience in a similar role and your enthusiasm to deliver and see things through, you will also bring with you:

•    Bachelor engineering qualification, and a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar industry
•    Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) as recognised by Engineers Australia (or international equivalent) preferred (obtained or on track to obtain)
•    Knowledge of the relevant OHS codes, standards and legislation. Be a leader in establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture
•    Demonstrated leadership, drive, initiative, creativity and a high level of personal motivation
•    Demonstrated Project Management skills and an understanding of an infrastructure asset project lifecycle
•    Clear customer focus when dealing with both internal and external stakeholders with demonstrated commitment to excellence
•    Understanding of commercial contracts and be able to manage, formulate and track individual budgets
•    Broad knowledge of standards and specifications, including relevant WSAA Codes necessary for the design and construction of South East Water’s assets including knowledge of legislation related to the Water Industry
•    Ability to understand the impacts of decisions on cost, other stakeholders and customers
•    Good negotiation skills on matters such as contractors' claims, variations and commercial disputes, refer to the relevant escalation point
•    Understanding and appreciation of environmental issues relating to the design and construction water and sewer infrastructure

This role is remunerated between $101,563 and $118,760 + super and a company vehicle and offers are commensurate with the successful candidates' experience.
