Product Development Test Engineer

The role

 

The Test Engineer reports to the OT Product Development Manager, ensuring rigorous testing of IoT devices and software for SEW’s Digital Utility strategy.

 

The role involves creating and executing test plans, working with firmware, electronics, and telecom experts, and verifying product readiness. Responsibilities include standardizing test processes, validating device compatibility, and providing feedback to improve designs. Expertise in embedded systems, communication protocols, and electronics is essential and the position ensures seamless integration of new technologies into SEW’s IoT platform before field deployment. By maintaining high standards, the engineer supports agile development and influences product enhancements, aligning with SEW’s strategic goals. 

 

This is a 12 month maximum term position.

 

Who are you?

 

  • Tertiary degree in Electrical/Electronic/System Engineering or related
  • Experience in embedded systems, cellular communication devices and related protocols (IP based protocols as well as 3G, 4G, NB-IoT and other LPWAN technologies)
  • Good knowledge of IT, communications, testing solutions and software
  • A high level of aptitude to develop new testing procedures for a range of technologies
  • A passion for technology and innovation to improve the way South East Water operates its networks and treatment facilities
  • Product development experience is beneficial
  • Scripting knowledge is beneficial
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)

This role is remunerated at a Level 5 which is between $115,748 and $122,323 + super and offers are commensurate with the successful candidates' experience.
