About the role
Our Maintenance group is seeking a Pressure Sewer Technician to join the team, to contribute to the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of South East Water’s pressure sewerage network. This field and office based role will ensure the pressure sewerage network is operating correctly and in accordance with industry practices and standards, facilitate maintenance, co-ordinate repairs and emergency response.
The team operates within a 24/7 service environment and provides emergency response to minimise disruption of services to customers and as well as ensuring that public health and the environment are not put at risk. The role will also be required for incident support as needed.
About you
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the maintenance, construction and/or operations of sewerage, water and recycled water systems. To be successful in this role, you'll have the following skills and experience:
- Year 12 certificate or equivalent
- Certificate III in Water Operations, trade qualification (fitter, plumbing etc.), or relevant water industry experience
- Experience in the use of technology such as SCADA and Works Management systems
- Ability to work independently and proactively to diagnose and resolve complex problems related to the sewerage network
- Sound communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- A broad understanding of hydraulic principles that apply to both gravity and pressurised sewerage networks
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems such as those found at Pump Stations is desirable
