The role

 

The People Advisor is responsible for providing advice and support across various people functions, including employee and workplace relations.

 

The People Advisor will be expected to collaborate and work closely with the wider People Operations Team to ensure our internal customers receive a high standard of service and support. The role will contribute to and support the People, Safety & Governance business unit initiatives.

 

Some of the key accountabilities for the role include the following:

 

  • Assisting and providing advice, coaching and support on workplace relations matters, including modern award, enterprise agreement, Fair Work legislation and Policy interpretation
  • Offering guidance and support in applying workplace relations practices effectively
  • Monitoring and analysing legislative changes and identifying workplace relations training needs
  • Developing and enhancing human resource fundamentals across the business to ensure consistency, efficiency and alignment with best practice.
  • Managing end-to-end parental leave process
  • Supporting and assisting in implementing structural changes and preparing and managing reports regarding business activity and people metrics.
  • Supporting People Operations initiatives to enhance workplace relations and compliance.

Who are you?

 

Armed with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Law and at least three years' experience in a fast-faced HR generalist or industrial and employee relations-focused role, candidates will require the following skills, knowledge and experience to be considered for this role:

 

  • Strong understanding and experience in interpreting industrial legislation, awards and enterprise agreements.
  • Experience in handling industrial relations issues, managing employee relations cases and supporting change process.
  • Experience in policy and procedure development, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex in a clear and practical manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders – the ability to connect, collaborate and communicate clearly is key.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships and influence outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with attention to detail.

This role is remunerated at a Level 4, which is between $101,563 and $114,918 + super and offers are commensurate with the successful candidates' experience.
