The role
The Payroll & People Administrator is a key role within the Payroll team, supporting the delivery of accurate, timely payroll services while keeping our people data up to date. You’ll be a key point of contact for transactional queries and updates, while working closely with the broader People Operations team to ensure our internal customers receive exceptional service.
This role will provide you with hands‑on development and exposure across the payroll cycle. It’s an ideal role for someone with some existing Payroll experience who’s detail‑driven, people‑focused, and looking to grow their career in Payroll and HR Operations.
Reporting to the Payroll Remuneration & Policy Lead, some day to day activities in this role include:
- Act as the initial point of contact and respond to payroll, leave and system queries
- Interpret and communicate the SEW Enterprise Agreement; Awards; employment contracts; policies and procedures
- Management of day to day SEW Parental Leave scheme and continuous improvement
- Support onboarding candidates, timesheet management, leave management & reporting/auditing
- Support and identify system and process improvement opportunities
- Support as required to the broader HR Operations team
Who are you?
With existing experience in a comparable Payroll function, the ideal candidate will hold the following skills and attributes:
- Ability to problem solve payroll-related queries while providing sound advice and information
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
- Strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to deal professionally with confidential information, issues and data
- A knowledge of Industrial Awards, Enterprise Bargaining Agreements, Employment Law and the Fair Work Act is desirable
- Previous experience using HRIS systems, as well as Chris21/iChris desirable

This role is remunerated at a Level 3, which is $94,442 + super.
