The role
The main role of the Payroll and People Administrator is to support the Payroll Team with the day-to-day delivery of end-to-end accurate and timely Payroll services to the organisation. Working closely with the wider People Operations team and reporting to the Payroll Remuneration and Policy Lead, this role will assist in ensuring our internal customers receive a high standard of service and support.
Serving as the primary point of contact for processing People Central and/or Chris 21 changes, this role will also provide backup support to the Payroll Specialist as needed.
Some of the main accountabilities will include the following:
• Acting as the initial point of contact for employees and responding to simple payroll, leave and system queries.
• Interpreting and communicating the SEW Enterprise Agreement; Awards; employment contracts; policies and procedures.
• Providing reporting as required through audit schemes and ad hoc requests.
• Managing of day to day SEW Parental Leave scheme
• Supporting and identifying system and process improvement opportunities
• Providing support and management of workflow delegations and actions including Onboarding candidates, timesheet management per SEW EA, leave management & report/auditing.
• Assisting the People Operations team and broader organisation on use of People Central in processing/managing workflows, leave management and navigation of system.
Who are you?
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned administrator with relevant education or significant business experience in Human Resources, Finance or Payroll administration.
The following skills, knowledge and experience will ensure your success in the role:
• Ability to problem solve payroll related queries and provide sound advice and information.
• Working knowledge of Industrial Awards, Enterprise Bargaining Agreements, Employment Law and the Fair Work Act
• Strong analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to deal professionally with confidential information, issues and data.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal, as well as exceptional customer service and relationship building skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, competing priorities and interruptions.
• Previous experience in HRIS systems and payroll is desirable.

This role is remunerated at a Level 2, which is between $82,036 and $93,388 + super and offers are commensurate with the successful candidates' experience.
