Learning and Development Manager

The role
Reporting to the Group Manager Future Workforce, the Learning and Development Manager is responsible for leading the strategic development of all learning, development, leadership and talent management initiatives for South East Water. Building workforce capability, you will empower our people to be their best and assist with creating a culture of engaged, self-led, high performing and agile employees and leaders.
You will deliver this by leading a small team of Learning and Capability experts who work closely with the wider business to understand learning and development needs and capability priorities to meet strategic organisational objectives and drive customer outcomes.
While no two days look the same for the L&D Manager, some day-to-day activities might include the following:
- Develop and oversee the Learning and Development Calendar and Directory
- Review, optimise and promote the eLearning Hub (LMS)
- Gather feedback to measure effectiveness of L&D programs
- Oversee the process to assign compliance and regulatory training to employees, to minimize risk and meet obligations
- Implement the Leadership Capability Framework that underpins the skills, behaviours and capabilities required to deliver our strategic plan
- Design people leader tools and internal leadership programs to enhance employee experience, including Leadership Essential programs and People Leader pathways
- Facilitation of training and workshops
- Drive and enhance the performance, development and talent process
Who are you?
The preferred candidate will be a seasoned Learning and Development Manager, holding extensive experience in a similarly complex environment, with tertiary qualifications desirable.
Additionally, you’ll hold the following skills and attributes:
- Excellent people skills with the ability to engage, consult and influence at all levels
- Well-developed presentation and facilitation skills
- Strong analytical skills, with a curious approach to data to recognise patterns
- Proven experience leading a team
- High level of commercial acumen
- Accreditation in individual and team profiling tools desirable
- Experience and/or accreditation in coaching desirable
- Experience in designing and delivering leadership development programs
