The role
Reporting to the Group Manager Future Workforce, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Lead ensures that at an organisational level, South East Water is a safe environment that reflects the diversity of our customers and community.
This is achieved through the development, implementation and delivery of various initiatives, including South East Water’s Gender Equality Action Plan (GEAP), DEI strategic plan and DEI annual action plan.
While no two days are the same in the DEI Lead role, you can expect to undertake some of the following activities:
- Leverage data and cultural insights to evolve our inclusive culture while building leadership capability, leveraging the benefits of our workforce diversity
- Manage our employee diversity advisor groups, empowering our employees to have a voice with our executive team, develop cultural understanding and enhance our employees’ sense of belonging
- Delivery and promotion of engaging events and workshops which recognise dates of significance and DEI initiatives
- Collaboration across industry through participation in networking and development forums
This role is offered as a 12-month max-term parental leave cover.
Who are you?
The preferred candidate will hold demonstrable experience in DEI roles and organisational development (preferred), with an ability to evolve organisational culture.
Additionally, you’ll hold the following skills and attributes:
- Excellent people skills to engage, negotiate and influence stakeholders
- Experience in GEAP development and reporting highly desirable
- Project management capabilities
- Development and delivery of workshops and focus groups for engagement and education
- Demonstrated passion for driving positive change in the DEI space, with deep cross-cultural understanding
- Analytical and data interpretation skills to develop insights

This role is remunerated at a Level 5, which is between $112,377 and $118,760 + super and offers are commensurate with the successful candidates' experience.
