Business Intelligence and Analytics Lead

The role

 

Sitting within the Business Technology Services (BTS) branch, which is responsible for the delivery and support of Information Technology services within South East Water (SEW), this exciting new role will have the opportunity to work on a significant analytics transformation project and play a pivotal role in providing capability, operational support, governance and influence in the data and analytics space.

 

Responsible for data-related implementation tasks, including software and report design and development, data modelling, testing, implementing security requirements, user experience evaluation and data visualisation, the Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Lead will also;

 

  • be a contributor to the development and implementation of the SEW Advanced Data and Analytics Platform, known as Acumen, including defining the enterprise-wide business intelligence roadmap;
  • support and manage operational elements, development pipelines and data within current the on-premises Business Intelligence solution and new Acumen platform;
  • manage, secure and optimise the SEW Power BI environment via the Power BI CoE;
  • work across the business to support analytics and data science to provide high value business insights and outcomes; and
  • combine hands-on reporting expertise, platform administration (including Power BI and Microsoft Fabric).

Who are you?

 

Along with a degree-level qualification in Information Technology or Data Science, this highly technical role will require candidates to possess the following skills, experience and knowledge at a minimum:

 

  • 5+ years' experience in BI and analytics roles with hands-on development responsibilities
  • 5+ years' experience in software development lifecycle for Information systems solutions (Microsoft Azure, SQL server)
  • 5+ years' experience in Data Warehouse solutions and concepts (MS BI Stack – SSIS\SSAS\SSRS preferable but not mandatory)
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, MS-SQL, T-SQL, SQL Server Management studio
  • Strong experience designing and optimizing data models for reporting and analytics
  • 5 plus years’ experience with enterprise modern data architecture patterns and metadata driven ETL solutions
  • Proven experience in data visualisation and reporting using Microsoft Power BI including DAX, Power Query (M) and workspace administration
  • 1+ years' experience administering Microsoft Fabric or demonstrable expertise in Fabric workloads
  • Understanding of Data governance, data security and Privacy

This role is remunerated between $150K and $160K inclusive of super and offers are commensurate with the successful candidates' experience.
