The role
The Assets & Warranty Officer manages ordering, inventory, and warranty processes for all IoT and meter-related devices across South East Water. This role ensures accurate forecasting, stock availability, and timely deployment of analogue and digital devices, directly supporting revenue and service levels. It also oversees warranty compliance and meter record accuracy per contractual requirements, while contributing to daily operations within the Metering & Asset Management Team.
This is a 12 month maximum term position.
Key responsibilities:
- Forecast and manage inventory for all metering programs, including meters, components, accessories, and SIM cards
- Reconcile delivery documents with manifests and resolve discrepancies
- Liaise with meter manufacturers for forecasting, ordering, PO creation, reconciliation, and payments; escalate issues as needed
- Oversee end-to-end warranty processes, ensuring systems, dashboards, claims, and documentation are up to date
- Maintain expert knowledge of metering systems and processes
- Create and manage meter manifests, including uploads and exceptions
- Ensure digital devices are properly decommissioned from systems
- Act as primary escalation point for stock, inventory, and warranty queries
- Reconcile meter stock to budget codes monthly and escalate for approval
- Support Metering Officer tasks as needed, managing priorities effectively
Who are you?
- Advanced MS Office Skills and high capability in utilizing computer-based databases for data entry and analysis
- Demonstrated excellent organisational and time management skills
- Understanding of Inventory Management Processes and Warranty Claim procedures
- Excellent stakeholder management skills - written and verbal communication for letter writing, telephone enquiries, building relationships with suppliers
- A sound knowledge of standards, procedures and legislation applicable to the metering processes and good problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of the operation and metering of major residential and small commercial water systems
- Demonstrated analytical, judgement and resolution skills and have an investigative aptitude to follow a problem from its inception to solution

This role is remunerated at a Level 3, which is between $94,442 - $101,456 + super and offers are commensurate with the successful candidates' experience.
