Accounts Payable Officer

The role
A two-day per week (0.4), permanent position is now available for a seasoned Accounts Payable (AP) Officer reporting into the Senior Systems Accountant within the Finance and Technology Group.
Responsible for processing supplier invoices and ensuring suppliers are paid in a timely manner, the role will focus primarily on completing the accounts payable function from end to end. With exceptional time management skills and attention to detail, the AP Officer will own the accounts payable inbox, responding to internal and external customers and processing between 70 – 100 invoices on a daily basis.
Some other key accountabilities of the role include;
- Processing invoices and claim forms in the financial system
- Processing weekly and ad hoc payment runs (EFT and cheques)
- Processing overseas and domestic payments
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Advising management and staff in relation to requisitioning and accounts payable issues
- Performing basic month end reconciliation checks of the Account Payable balance in the financial system
Who are you?
To be considered for this role, candidates will need to possess a minimum of two years' experience in an Accounts Payable role and have a strong working knowledge of Purchasing and Accounts Payable processes and systems, including experience in the use of Finance ERP systems and databases.
With strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills and a proven ability to provide effective advice to stakeholders in a professional manner, candidates will also be adept at resolving novel and complex accounts payable related queries and problems.
Other required skills include the following:
- Ability to meet deadlines, be able to work independently and exercise discretion
- Ability to effectively organise and prioritise workload
- Strong attention to detail
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office ie Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams

This role is remunerated at a Level 3, which is between $91,691 and $98,501 + super and offers are commensurate with the successful candidates' experience.
